Valmar Support Services has a current vacancy for a permanent full-time Registered Nurse in our Aged Services, based in either Tumut or Cootamundra. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Aged Care, The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality, person-centred clinical nursing services to older people living at home. The RN is responsible for undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments, delivering direct nursing care, and working collaboratively with participants, their supporters, and multidisciplinary teams to support health, wellbeing, and independence in the home environment.
About you:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in community, aged care, or primary health nursing
- Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment, care planning, and delivery of direct nursing interventions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to person-centred care and supporting older people to live safely and independently at home
- Current Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel to clients’ homes
- Ability to negotiate with participants, their supporters, staff, health professionals, allied health professionals, and other community support services.
- Complex problem solving and conflict resolution skills in relation to health, staffing, and program delivery.
- Competency in training, mentoring, and supporting staff.
- Capable of managing physical aspects of working with older people with high level support needs.
