Following many weeks delay after a natural spring was unearthed when excavating for the footings, the slab for the shed to house the Singulator has finally been poured at the Pinecom Resource Recovery facility at Gilmore near Tumut!!!
All the components for the shed have been on site awaiting this slab, so it will now be able to be erected very quickly. Valmar and Tomra – Cleanaway are in ongoing discussions around the installation and commencement of the new Automated Deposit facility and it is hoped that it will be up and running before October, but there are still a few supply and approvals hurdles to be crossed.
Once operational, this new facility will process approximately 5 million redeemable containers a year, and may in time also bale the redeemed materials for final dispatch. This level of work, underwritten by the NSW Return and Earn scheme, will give great certainty and great work options for employees with disabilities from the Snowy Valleys Council area for many years to come, and is a really positive example of a three way partnership between Industry, Local Government and Valmar.
