INDEPENDENT LIVING DROP IN SUPPORT (ILDS)

The Independent Living Drop in support Program ( ILDIS) aims to facilitate people with a disability currently living in ADHC or NGO group homes, to move into independent living arrangement through intensive skill development, person centred planning, supporting their transition into alternate accommodation and providing drop in support by trained professional Support workers.

The primary target is people with a disability aged between 18- 65 years old assessed by ADHC as having an intellectual disability.

In addition the person must ensure they have the:

•   Capacity to live independently.
•   Willing to work with service providers.
•   Is for the most part ambulant and does not require high levels of daily physical support.

The Program service model has two components:

1.  Skill training and development.
2.  Ongoing support up to 30 hours a week.

The first 12 months to focus on 1, the second component is long term drop in support maintaining living skills focus. The program is funded in Queanbeyan and Goulburn and managed by Valmar Support Services LTD.
